Meet the Pastors

Ted Smith, Executive Pastor
TedSmith@clgonline.org
Ted has been on the pastoral staff of Church of the Living God for twenty-seven years, first as Administrative Pastor, and in recent years as its Executive Pastor.
Both Ted and his wife, Anne, were introduced to Christ as children in the same church, right here in Traverse City. While Ted is quick to admit that the church of his childhood was far from perfect, nevertheless, it was in that church and through those loving people that God taught him the valuable lessons and patterns that would shape his life, and ultimately call him into ministry.
After a career as a real estate broker during the 70s and early 80s, he left the corporate world because his heart was being drawn back to the local church. At the Church of the Living God Ted works to help shape the vision and mission, and to create a place for families to dwell together and experience the adventure of following Christ. With the family crumbling in many parts of our society, the church has the awesome opportunity to become what God truly designed it to be: a caring, loving, forgiving family. This is Ted’s call.
Ted and Anne were born and raised in Traverse City, and have two children and five grandchildren.

Scott Norris, Teaching Pastor
ScottNorris@clgonline.org
Scott, a successful Traverse City builder/contractor/developer, joined the pastoral team at CLG nine years ago. Scott’s gift (and passion) is delivering the truths of Scripture in ways that outlast the Sunday gathering, and actually work on Monday morning. He firmly believes in the practicality of Scripture as we learn to follow it in real life.
Scott and his wife, Lauri, have a blended family of nine children and 6 grandchildren.

Anthony Weber, Teaching Pastor, Youth Ministries Pastor
AnthonyWeber@clgonline.org
As pastor of Youth Ministries, Anthony oversees the Teens Living for Christ (TLC) group, all young adults (young marrieds, singles, college age), and gives oversight to a dynamic team of leaders for Kids’ Klubs and Sunday School.
Anthony has a Bachelors in English Education and a Master’s degree in theology, with a concentration in philosophy. He teaches classes in Worldviews and Logic at Traverse City Christian High School. Anthony’s “best day” is when he is hanging out with a group of inquisitive twenty-somethings (cup of coffee in hand), engaging in a spirited give and take on the apologetics of the Christian faith, explaining the essence of living out a Christian world view in an age of confusion and self-indulgence. Hobbies: playing basketball, drinking coffee, and (currently) reading Dean Koontz novels.
Anthony and wife, Sheila, have been married 19 years and have three boys: A.J., 14, Braden, 11, and Vincent, 4.
